GOLF DEL SUR RESORT: One of Europe’s best golf and leisure complexes, covering approx 410 acres of land, Golf del Sur is in essence a town with a golf course running through it, catering not just for the golfer but also for families who require a more up-market area where the environment is clean and scenery beautiful. Located along the street and below the apartment are many restaurants, tapas bars, and shops all within a 2 minute walk. Within the resort an elegantly designed commercial centre at San Blas Village offers all the services from bars, restaurants, supermarkets and shops, to a medical centre and car hire, and is only a short walk away along the coastal path. Locally is a marina with a developing range of water sports and you can even take a trip on the Yellow Submarine and explore what’s below the Ocean.

GOLF : Golf del Sur is home to a 27 hole par 72 course of the same name. The course was opened in 1987, and still today is one of the most important golf courses on Tenerife and has hosted the European PGA Tour on many occasions. The wide fairways are lined with over 8,000 palm trees and are enhanced by the striking black sand bunkers. An all year round place to play golf in the sun and within easy reach of the apartment. The course is open to visitors although pre-booking is advised. Amarilla Golf is also within a 5 minute drive and is an equally stunning course with some of the most picturesque holes you will ever play.
Sight Seeing, Shopping & Restaurants: Maybe hire a car or take an organised trip around the Island and explore all what Tenerife has to offer. Mount Teide dominates the Island and is well worth a trip to take in the rugged volcanic scenery and up to the summit in the cable car. Santa Cruz the capital is THE place to visit for all your shopping, and maybe even see some large cruise ships in it’s harbour. Puerto de la Cruz in the North of the Island has the most fantastic LORO PARQUE, (Parrot Park) full of the most exotic birds, and amazing Dolphin shows. The Island has an abundance of shops and shopping experiences, all of which are Duty exempt, so as you explore this beautiful Island, don’t forget to stop off and find yourself some bargains. The accommodation consists of a lounge (with generous sized double sofa bed) leading through patio doors onto a sunny terrace and a private garden. There is a TV with BBC1, BBC2, ITV, CH4 and CH5 plus a DVD player, radio/CD player, books/DVDs/brochures etc, ceiling fan. Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands situated approximately 200 miles off the north coast of Africa. It is just four hours flying time from the UK. The average temperature ranges from 19* in January to 30* at the height of the summer. The winter months are the busiest in the Canary Islands because of the general all-year-round temperatures. Golf Del Sur is around 10 minutes drive from Tenerife South Airport on the coast of the island as you drive towards the resorts of Los Cristianos/Las Americas.Golf Del Sur has everything from golf courses, water sports, restaurants/shops/bars and a marina to stunning scenery but yet it remains a haven for peace and tranquillity. If you are a party reveller seeking the nightclubs this is not the place for you! There is a beautiful coastal path leading from the marina to San Blas Square which passes many coffee shops/restaurants etc. In San Blas you will find a bank, church, internet cafe, shops and numerous restaurants/bars.

Golf: The resort of Golf Del Sur has a golf course of the same name. This is a 27 hole, par 72 course, built in 1987 and has hosted several PGA championships. Amarilla Golf is a stunning 18 hole course situated in Golf Del Sur and has excellent clubhouse facilities. There are four more courses within an easy driving distance and eight on the entire island. Most of the courses offer deals if you enquire in advance but this is also dependant on the season. Green fees drop considerably from May/June but check with each individual clubhouse first.

Winter Gardens: An attractive, well presented complex built in 2002, dominated by the only International Bowling Green on the island. It offers a superb bowls arena which is open daily to the public but also caters for large tour parties of bowlers from all over the globe. There is an on-site bowling coordinator and bowls reception. The bowling green has 8 rinks, flat greengage bowling surface and opens daily from 9am to late evening under floodlight. A restaurant, bar and a snack bar cater for the residents and visitors to Winter Gardens. Tuition is on hand if required and families are welcome. The complex also hosts barbecues, cabaret nights and bowling competitions.

Amenities : Close to Winter Gardens are a number of restaurants offering Chinese/Thai/Japanese, Spanish, Tapas, Mexican and seafood cuisine. The seafront is literally a five minute walk away and on Friday mornings there is a weekly market close by. A new marina has recently been completed and offers a variety of water sports such as sailing courses to water skiing, scuba diving and canoeing. About a mile from the complex there is a go-karting course and for those who want to venture a little further, Loro Parque Zoo is a great place to visit for a day out. Mount Teide is the main attraction on the island. This is an extinct volcano which can be reached by cable car and is well worth a visit for its stunning scenery alone. Los Christianos and Las Americas are more lively resorts and are easily accessed by taxi for serious shoppers and party revellers. Siam Park is a brand new aqua park situated near Los Christianos and is supposedly the largest in Europe.

A portable fan is also available for those hot summer nights. Plenty of hanging space is provided for all those ´holiday clothes´, along with iron and ironing board. The kitchen has a good range of utensils along with microwave, kettle, cool bag for keeping the drinks cool at the beach and a good selection of glasses from sangria to champagne. Hairdryer and hair straighteners are also provided. In the lounge there is a large wall unit with ample cupboard space for clothes for guests using the sofa bed. Golf Information: The apartment is just 5 minutes walk from the fantastic PGA approved 27 hole Championship Golf Course at Golf Del Sur which has hosted the European Tour ‘Tenerife Open’. This fantastic course has delightful areas of native flora and exceptional bunkers of black, volcanic sand which is typical of the Island. Top names are frequent players here and the splendid Clubhouse is within easy walking distance. Facilities include club rental, golf cart rental, golf teacher, putting green, practice tee, sports shop, coffee shop, restaurant, bowling and tennis. Amarilla Golf, Golf Las Americas, Real Club de Tenerife and the new Costa Golf Adeje are also situated within easy driving distance.
Beach towels are not provided. Some steps lead up to the apartment. The bedroom sleeps up to two people and a sofa bed is available in the lounge. For bookings of 10 days or more there will be a linen/towel change at the end of each full week. All details can be confirmed upon booking.

Local Interest: The complex of Sand Club is very quiet yet only minutes walk away from the many facilities offered. Bars ,restaurants, entertainment, shopping, car rental, hairdressers, Church,and many more. Mount Teide is only an hour drive away with all the wonderful views on the way. Crazy golf can be found behind the clubhouse next to the real thing!! Los Cristianos, Las Americas, Santa Cruz etc. can be reached by public transport which offer a very good service or taxis which offer very reasonable rates. Coach trips can be booked locally to Mount Teide, Icod, La Oratavia and other local places of interest. Also car hire is available at excellent rates. (Don’t forget the driving licence). Within walking distance is the well renowned local fishing village of Los Abrigos with its promenade of excellent fish restaurants.

Excursions can be booked from a supermarket nearby who are extremely helpful or in a number of Ticket Offices on the Golf.

Golf: SOUTH TENERIFE has 2-27 hole courses, 2-18 hole 1-9 hole par 3 course. One is Golf Del Sur itself, but the furthest away is 12 kms. They are all pay as you play courses. Apart from the par 3 course, they have all hosted either PGA European or LADIES European championships. Reduced green fees are available MAY 1 -SEPTEMBER 30.

Aquamarina Apartments, Golf Del Sur, are in the South of the island, central to the beaches of Medano and Los Christianos 10kms. There is a regular bus service through the island where you can visit the many varied attractions that are on offer. Santa Cruz (the capital) is 65 kms. where you will find a large variety of shops. Mount Teide is a must on your visit . At sea are Whales and Dolphins on the way to the beautiful island of La Gomera, well worth the ferry trip. There is a large commercial centre (San Blas)with its shops, bars and many restaurants with enough choice for everybody. Entering the apartment, the air conditioned double bedroom is on the right, the bedroom containing a king size bed, bedside lockers, a double wardrobe with mirrors and a 5 drawer chest. The bathroom contains a bath, shower, toilet and bidet, and a wash basin. The Dining area has a table and seating area. The kitchen with breakfast bar is fully fitted with all modern appliances including a Bosch oven and touch tone ceramic hob. The large family living room has a 3 seater sofa, a double futon sofa bed, coffee table with lamp, 28inch TV, DVD and CD Player. The child proof patio doors lead onto a 20 square metre terrace that overlooks the pool with patio furniture. Excellent daytime and evening entertainment available on site with two on-site restaurants. The complex has a large main pool and a childrens pool with hot tubs also available near the pool area. There is also an excellent childrens club – The bussy bees.

Parque Albatros is a stylish complex with lovely exotic gardens; a stream rambles through the gardens and leads to a waterfall that drops into the main heated swimming pool. The complex has spacious sunbathing areas surrounding the main and children’s pool, there is a secure children’s play area. There’s a pool table, table tennis and darts board for older children and adults. The complex is popular with both families and couples of all ages, the complex atmosphere is chilled and relaxing. The on-site bar and restaurant serves excellent breakfasts, lunches and evening meals, Sunday evening is Barbecue night which comes highly recommend. Entertainment is provided each night in the complex. Within a short walk is Golf Del Sur town centre (San Blas) which has many things to offer including shops, a supermarket, bars and restaurants. The Marina is a leisurely 5 minute walk away which offers a bar/restaurant overlooking the ocean and also access to the submarine and jet ski safaris.

Golf del Sur is surrounded by an ocean of green, as its name suggests, Golf del Sur does boast a 27-hole Championship course, this is split into three 9-hole links courses which are surrounding the resort. There are splendid views of the Mountains ~ The most famous Mount Teide. The resort is surrounded by deep blue ocean and is only approx 5 miles away from the airport and is easily accessible by taxi or hire car. There is an excellent selection of restaurants, including Chinese, Japanese/Oriental, Spanish, Italian and many others, many of which directly overlook the sea and the new Marina. The new Marina is only a short walk away and now has a bar and café as well as a Yellow Submarine Safaris that will take you down 30 metres to view the undersea world of the Atlantic ocean! Directly adjacent to the Marina is a small natural black sand beach.

Golf del Sur is 10 kilometres north from the hustle and bustle of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. Further along the coastline are the beautiful areas of Playa San Juan and Los Gigantes (famous for its rugged coastline and towering cliffs). Away from the town you can venture inland towards the magical National Park del Teide, where you will find breathtaking landscapes and the highest mountain in Spain standing 1537 metres above sea level. Across to the north side of the island you will find the best day out in the form of Loro Park. Puerto de la Cruz has a completely different aspect to the south, being very green and lush. Further round is the islands capital of Santa Cruz certainly worth a visit.
