Our apartment is in the little oasis known as Golf del Sur which is en route to the two main resorts of Los Cristianos and Las Americas in the south of Tenerife. It has just been upgrade to provide a new kitchen and 2 shower rooms one ensuite to the master bedroom which has wheelchair access. We have Tv’s in the lounge and master bedroom with English channels, there is also a DVD, video and radio/ CD player. As well as a championship 27 hole golf course there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in the resort. Its great for kids with 3 swimming pools on the complex one heated in winter. There is a commercial centre about 2km away with restaurants and bars with entertainment in the square. Its only 15 mins from the airport and about 20 mins from Las Americas by car or taxi. Nearby Las Chafiras has 4 large hypermarkets as well as just about everything else you could wish to buy.
Apartment is wheelchair accessible but there are steps to access some of the facilities, or a long push round the external road, a car is recommended for disabled. Smoking only allowed on balcony.
Golf: Green Park is only 500m from the clubhouse of the Golf del Sur championship 27 hole golf course.

The sun terrace is accessed internally by a staircase from the lounge area. From the sun terrace you have a panoramic view of the ocean and the mountains. The apartment is well furnished, with a well-stocked kitchen area. The TV has BBC1, BBC2, ITV and channel 4. A few minutes stroll from Winter Gardens will take you to the marina where you can while away an hour or two having a drink at the two bars or just have a walk along the marina admiring the yachts that are moored there. You can book a trip on the ‘yellow submarine’ from the end of the marina. A coastal walk will take you around the ocean front past Amarilla Golf.
Our penthouse apartment is well-furnished to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. There is a balcony leading out from the lounge with a table and chairs where you can enjoy the views and watch the bowling. There are internal stairs leading up to the spacious sun terrace with a lockable door at the top for safety. The large sun terrace has a shower, sun beds, table and chairs. There is also a barbeque area. The views from here are fantastic.

Restaurants and shops: Winter Gardens hosts family bowling mornings, bowling competitions and many other events. There is a restaurant overlooking the bowling green which is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a cup of coffee. Outside the apartment complex is a good selection of restaurants, including Chinese, Spanish, Tapas, Mexican, seafood and a grill house, all within easy walking distance. A 10 minute walk will take you to San Blas square. Here you will find a great choice of restaurants where you can enjoy the live entertainment provided by some of them. San Blas also has a bank, supermarket, cash point and several gift/duty free shops. A five minute car ride will take you to Los Abrigos, a lovely fishing village with many restaurants going down to the harbour. There are two small supermarkets next to Winter Gardens and a larger one at San Blas. There is a small market held on Sundays outside the Aguamarina Hotel, across the road from Winter Gardens.
Resort: Golf del Sur is ideal for families, being away from the hustle and bustle of the busy resorts, but within easy reach should you wish to explore them. There is a regular bus service to the beach resorts and Santa Cruz, as well as a taxi rank 100 metres from the top of the complex. It’s in a great location, you can relax by the pool or take a trip to some of the many wonderful attractions on Tenerife. Parque las Aguillas (the eagle park) in the south is a great day out. There are 2 aquaparks in Playa de las Americas. Golfers have a choice of courses to play on – Golf del Sur, Amarilla Golf, and within 20 minutes driving distance there are courses at Playa de Las Americas and Costa Adeja. Also, the bowling facilities at Winter Gardens are second to none. You can be a novice or an expert, tuition is available if you need it. Family bowling is available. If you want to visit the beach you can go to Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas, Las Galletas or El Medano all about 15 minutes drive away.

Winter Gardens, in Golf del Sur, is about a 10 minute drive from Reina Sofia airport in the south of Tenerife and a further 10 minute drive to Los Cristianos. A 15 minute drive will take you to Playa de las Americas and it’s many beaches, restaurants, shops and bars. Santa Cruz, the island’s capital is about 40 minutes away by car. There is a coastal walk from the apartment that will take you to San Blas Commercial Centre in about 10 minutes. San Blas has a bank, cash point, supermarket, excursion booking offices and a good selection of restaurants and gift shops. A further 15 minute walk from San Blas will take you to Los Abrigos, a lovely fishing village with many restaurants and a harbour. There is also a good selection of restaurants within easy access of the apartment itself. Golf del Sur golf course is about a 10 minute walk away. The golf course has 27 holes, a driving range, pitch and putt and a club house. Within easy driving distance is the Amarilla Golf course.

Many of our guests return on a regular basis to this exclusive one or two bedroom two bathroom apartment with its very large south facing terrace. We have recently completed a high spec upgrade to give that special touch of luxury to its decor. The main bedroom has a superking bed which can convert into two twin beds. The second bedroom has twin beds while the second bathroom has a jacuzzi shower. We constantly strive to equip the apartment to a very high standard to include oven/hob, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer, blender, hairdryer, CD & DVD. There is a 40 inch TV with UK & Irish channels. The apartment enjoys an excellent location beside the heated swimming pool and it is very secure for children. The large terrace catches the sun all day and into the evening while there is also a lovely shaded area for those who do not like too much sun. There is a poolside jacuzzi and separate children’s pool. The apartment is wheelchair accessible.
There is a bottle of bubbly to enjoy on your arrival. For late arrivals, we can arrange for a welcome pack, containing basic essentials for you. The new marina has now been completed. A new coastal walkway, very close to the apartment, offers a bracing three mile circuit, with spectacular views across the coast with great opportunities to witness an amazing sunrise or sunset. There are some strategically placed coffee shops along the way. It is a 10 minute walk to San Blas for more restaurants, bars, supermarket and other shopping. A further 10 minute walk across the beach will take you to Los Abrigos fishing village. For the more serious walker, there are several challenging walks amongst the four national parks that surround Mount Teide. Details and maps from local tourist office. If you don’t feel up to a full round of golf, there is a driving range and practice area in the Golf del Sur course. There is also a challenging nine hole Par 3 at Los Palos a few miles away.
General: Duquesa del Mar is a luxury development of 89 apartments. The complex would be considered to be very prestigious in Golf del Sur. It is very conveniently located, close to all amenities, yet in a quiet location with keypad access. It is a relatively quiet area at night, and if you are seeking a more lively nightlife, this is best found in areas such as Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas, a 10 minutes taxi ride away. Golf del Sur is not just about golf. There are some wonderful seafront walks with many excellent restaurants in the area serving a variety of food to include Teppan Yaki in the Sekura Teppan on the walk to the marina. This is well worth a visit. The Golden Dragon is a very good Chinese restaurant with reasonable prices and is just across the road. There are many other options for fish and meat. Marina I is very good in this regard and also reasonably priced.

Further Facilities: There are numerous facilities for all water sports and diving and snorkelling is particularly well catered for. The Tenerife Zoo, Loro Parque is an excellent day out, with many exotic species in a superb environment. This zoo is highly regarded internationally for its breeding programme and environmental approach. Siam Park is the new €52m Water Park with something for everyone, unbelievable rides and a manmade beach complete with waves. There is a wonderful outdoor bowls facility in the adjoining Winter Gardens complex. For people who have not tried this before, they hold a beginner’s day on Wednesday at 11.00am with a bbq afterwards. It is great fun and reasonably priced and would need to be booked in advance as it is very popular. There are lots of markets in different locations on the island. Golf: Golf in Tenerife has come on in leaps and bounds over the years. It is now being marketed as the only area in Europe where you can play golf on Christmas day, with the sun guaranteed. Golf del Sur has two championship courses, and there are four more within easy driving distance. Buggies, clubs and caddies are all available for hire. Excellent clubhouse facilities. There are eight championship standard courses on the island, and the Tenerife was the venue for the Spanish Open in 2004. Most of the courses welcome green fee players and English is spoken everywhere. if you enquire in advance, most of the courses offer deals such as five green fees for the price of four, or reduced green fees for playing at specific times. However the availability of such deals will depend on the season and it is best to call personally and see whats on offer

Golf del Sur is a self contained town, with a golf course running through it. It is just a few minutes drive from the airport. Although well served by excellent restaurants, bars and shops, it is considered a quiet area. Yet it is only 10-15 minutes distance from the livelier nightspots of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. Taxis are plentiful and reasonably cheap. There is also an inexpensive public bus service, available at the door of the development. The apartment is located in the interior of the development and is sheltered from street and traffic noises. The apartment is a few metres away from a new seafront walkway, which gives spectacular sunrise views over Red Rock. The capital, Santa Cruz, is about an hour away and is well served by public buses. It contains several museums, a concert auditorium, lovely restaurants and serious shopping opportunities.

It features a very large south facing balcony off the living area, which is ideal for relaxing and enjoying meals. The second bedroom has direct access to the main balcony. Another balcony, leading off the main bedroom, gives a more private area for breakfast or just enjoying an evening drink. The apartment opens onto the heated pool area with a jacuzzi and children’s pool. A lift gives access to street level and a small supermarket. Golf: Golf del Sur is, as the name implies, an ideal venue for golfers with 3 first class courses in the immediate vicinity of our apartment with driving ranges and professional golf tuition if required. There are many other golf courses in the south of the island within short driving range – no pun intended!

Trips and other activities: Enjoyable boat trips, rides up the 12000 foot Mount Teide and other excursions are easily booked at nearby agents. The marvellous wind surfing beach of El Medano is a short drive away and the town has some excellent restaurants. The Winter Gardens complex next door to Duquesa del Mar has an 8 lane outdoor bowling green with beginners welcome and lots of fun! There is a diving school in the Marina with one on one tuition for beginners. If you hire a car, there are many picturesque villages to visit and sites to see.

Property Information: The complex of Ocean Golf and Country Club is one of the most prestigious in the resort of Golf Del Sur and these two apartment have the best positions within it. The swimming pools have been beautifully carved into the rock and provide a perfect spot to soak up the Tenerife sun. Plenty of sun beds are provided for your use. As the complex runs parrallel to the golf course it is an ideal base for golfers but it is also perfect for those who want to relax and enjoy the Tenerife climate and the facilities that Golf Del Sur has to offer. The complex has lifts and is very wheelchair friendly – many wheelchairs users have rented the sea apartments in the past. A large 2 bedroom ,self catering penthouse apartment with stunning views overlooking the golf course and views out to sea along with Mount Teide in the distance. The apartment has a conservatory built on one side and separate balconies attached to the master bedroom and living area. The apartment is situated on a private residential complex and has 2 pools to choose from. Just a 2 minute walk will take you to bars and restaurants, however the apartment is situated on the 3rd floor so no noise from these establishments will reach you. The occasional ‘ting’ as a golf ball is launched is the only noise that you should hear. Access to the apartment is gained either by stairs or a lift and has a key safety box so there is no need to carry keys with you.
Golf Information: The 27 hole international course at Golf del Sur is considered to be Tenerife’s leading golf course. Ever since its 1987 inaugural event the 27 greens and fairways of Golf del Sur have provided the backdrop for various top international tournaments. The course was designed by Pepe Gancedo and has a thoroughly enjoyable layout in which one’s attention is immediately caught by the black volcanic sand in the bunkers. The wide fairways are lined with such a wide variety of indigenous plants such as palm trees and giant cacti. This 800 square-metre course beside the Atlantic Ocean is like a veritable oasis. Particularly difficult is the 3rd hole of the north course. To the right of the wide fairway is a water hazard, behind which lies an impressive ravine with an ochre-coloured rockface, while to the left is a gaping bunker of black sand. Another notable hole is the 2nd of the southern course, a par 3 of 193 metres whose green is surrounded by another immense bunker of black sand.

The Golf Del Sur is located on the South Coast, only a short distance from Riena Sofia airport As the name suggests Golf Del Sur exists for golf. There are a number of superb courses however other entertainments haven´t been left behind. There is a shopping centre and many restaurants and bars to choose from. The complex of Ocean Golf and Country Club are of the highest quality. The complex is seen as one of the most prestigious in the area. There is a heated pool, full English TV, sea and Golf views and at the front of the complex are a few quiet bars and restaurants, wine bar, a chemist, an Italian and Chinese restaurant. The sea is a 5 minute walk away downhill and on the sea front you will find a gorgeous sea front promenade where there are some really good Spanish restaurants and bars.
