Golf Holidays: The area of Golf del Sur is in the vicinity of 5 golf courses. Two are 10 minutes walk, the others are 10mns & 20 mns drive. Golf del Sur course (walking distance from the villa) opened in 1987 with a professional golf tournament, set within a naturally protected area that surrounds the 27 holes, between the ravine, highlighting the beautiful indigenous flowers; cacti, palm trees and other large colourful plants. The course is known for its difficult holes 3 (par 5) and 4 (par 4) on the northern part of the course. Its wide paths are flanked by an impressive ravine of coloured rocks where spectacular indigenous cacti grow with views of Mount Teide. The entrance onto the green for the second hole (par 3) is surrounded by a large bunker of black sand which requires a great deal of accuracy.

This spacious one bedroom, two bathroom apartment is built on the exclusive development of Duquesa del Mar, situated in the heart of Golf del Sur, which lies to the south of the island of Tenerife.
The apartment is ideally located, situated within close proximity to the newly developed marina and although Golf del Sur is a quieter resort than the well known popular Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos (10Km away), there is a good choice of bars, shops and excellent restaurants to choose from within a very short walking distance (200yards), including two Italian restaurants, a Mexican, two steakhouses and a Teppanyaki Japanese restaurant, which is one of the best in Tenerife. There is also a choice of two supermarkets, one of which is adjacent to the complex. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished to a very high standard and comes with plenty of “home from home” comforts that you would expect from a 5 star resort. The kitchen has all the usual facilities including a washing machine, microwave and fridge freezer.
In the lounge there are 2 two seater sofas, one of which converts to a double bed for extra guests, there is a new 32″ LCD TV with UK channels, including BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Ch4, Ch5, Sky Sports Etc.. a NEW HD Media player with over 100 top films to choose from, a DVD Player, Ipod Station, Playstation & games. The two bathrooms are very useful when the apartment has four occupants and apart from more space they also offer more privacy too, there is a shower in one of the bathrooms and a bath/shower in the other. The spacious bedroom comes complete with a very comfortable double bed (there is also a cot available upon request), plenty of clothes storage including chest of drawers and fitted mirrored wardrobes and there is access out to the sun terrace through the sliding patio doors, there is also a coded safe to store personal belongings. The development was only completed recently and is considered to be one of the most exclusive developments in the area.

The golf coarse is so well maintained and In 1989, they bore witness to Jose Maria Olazabal´s victory in the Open de Tenerife, a feat he repeated in 1992. The following year they watched as David Gilford won the event, as did Mark James in 1994. In 1995, Golf del Sur hosted the Shell Wonderful World of Golf tournament and its head-to-head battle between Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson. The San Blas commercial centre has a pretty square ringed with restaurants, bars (including karaoke bars) and shops, and there is also tennis, crazy golf and bowling on offer. For those seeking more action, the resort is close to the ever-popular Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos resorts, which are accessible by bus. Hiring a car is also an excellent way to explore the surrounding areas and take in what Tenerife has to offer.
Activities: Boat Trips from Tenerife : There are a huge number of companies offering boat trips to tourists and these vary from a ‘booze cruise’ on a cruiser offering lunch, drinks and watersports to a trip around the island on a sailing boat or catamaran. One of the main attractions is the chance to see whales and dolphins in the wild. Visitors on most trips spot whales; dolphins are not so much of a certainty but are generally seen – often very close to the boat. Trips go from either Puerto Colon in Playa de las Americas, or from the port at Los Cristianos and most operators offer a free bus service from the larger hotels in the main resorts. Big Game Fishing around Tenerife : The Canary Islands are one of the best spots in the world for big game fishing and there are a number of companies who offer fishing trips in Tenerife. While blue marlin are the most highly prized trophy fish there are other species including white marlin, wahoo, dorado, yellowfin tuna, and mako and hammerheads.

There is a private heated outdoor swimming pool & an indoor Jacuzzi. Around the swimming pool is a purpose built BBQ & an additional outdoor eating area. Bedding is provided along with bathroom towels. The lounge, situated on the 1st floor, has a stunning terrace from which you can enjoy the sea views during the day & a fantastic sunset of an evening. The lounge area seats 8 adults & the internal dining facilities seat 16. There is an LCD TV, which receives a selection of English satellite channels & a DVD player. Naturally for a villa of this size there is a fully equipped kitchen. The villa is within 10/15 minute drive of Los Cristianos & Playa de las Americas where a vast array of restaurants, bars & shops can be found.
