At 765 metres high, Lo de Carta has spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and Gran Canaria far below. It is situated above the village of Arafo on the road leading up to the Teide National Park on the east side of the Island of Tenerife. It nestles amongst the slopes of a large working vineyard. The house was built in the 18th century and still retains its true Canarian country style architecture. Much of the borough, particularly higher up, is classed as National Park and is perfect for hikers. There are plenty of walks through the valleys and barrancos alongside the tight belts of vineyards and orchards. The natural beauty of the lava rivers that never quite made it to the sea and the ravines surrounding the town, such as the Añavingo ravine (important because of its outstanding endemic species) make the views spectacular.

Local Area: Mountain walking. There is wine cooperative close by. This region is known for its local wine. The town of Candelaria is close by, where the black Madonna is situated . She is the patron of Tenerife. There are several restaurants here which serve fish, a famous church in the plaza. You can drive to the ‘Teide’ which is the highest volcano in Europe . You can visit the Piramids of Guimar which where made by the Guanches the aborigines of Tenerife until the 1500′s. There is an auditorium, they have also dedicated an area to primitive navigation.

Beaches: Candelaria has a beach that should only be used by strong swimmers, even closer there is a beautiful beach in ‘ El Puerto de Guimar ‘, where you will some nice fish restaurants. Santa Cruz has a beautiful beach which you must pay to get into but which is well worth it.

In 3 minutes on foot you reach the tiny little town of Lecchi with a pub and shops. There’s a footpath to the historic Old Town of La Orotava and a footpath through banana plantations to a secluded beach bay. You’re right away from mass tourism, but even so it’s not far to town (Orotava or Puerto de la Cruz). Apart from that there are good bus services, especially for mountain hikers. The house is in a tranquil estate.

All the rooms are very comfortably furnished and you will feel at home from the moment you arrive. This is why the owner himself chooses to stay here in his own house on holiday for some weeks every year, giving the house a very personal feeling. There is a television with a digital satellite connection for the reception of almost all radio and television channels. There is also a high-quality CD player here. The living room opens into the dining room. The kitchen lies beyond the dining room. The kitchen is modern and is fully fitted. High steep cliffs build the image of the coastline in the north of Tenerife. It is here that we find the pretty and well cared-for small village of El Sauzal with its nice plaza and a lot of flowers. On top of the cliffs there are various attractive Miradores (view points). A special attraction in El Sauzal is the wine museum. Just the building in itself is worth a visit: a former farm-house from the 17th century with an old winepress in the inner courtyard. In the different exposition rooms the history of wine farming on Tenerife is explained clearly. It goes without saying that you can also try some of the local wines or even buy your favourite wine on the spot. But El Sauzal offers a lot more, like e.g. the pottery of Manuel. He is fast like the wind turning the clay on his potter’s wheel, making commercial ceramics like plates, cups, vases, pots etc. In the village you find many supermarkets and restaurants. We would like to recommend two very nice restaurants near the house.

The house is surrounded by a lovingly maintained garden. High shrubs, palms, trees and lawns offer a small natural paradise. There is also an outside heated pool, 4 m x 8 m approximately, 1,60 m deep and almost always kept to a minimum temperature of 25°C. There are sun beds and further garden furniture on the sun terrace. From there you have a heavenly outlook over the Atlantic, that is only about 300 m away, and a fully 180°panorama towards the North coast of Tenerife. The sun shines on the terrace almost all day, from dawn to dusk. The house lies approximately 100 m above sea level. Beside the house, there is an outside grill with a roofed seating area. A cot and a high chair are available. Hand towels, bath towels, dishtowels and bed linen are provided. Please bring only beach towels since towels should not be removed from the house. Pets cannot be brought to the house.

The holiday house is luxuriously equipped and has a purely residential area of approximately 150 m2 on two floors and a very quite lacation. The situation is unique, sitting out on one of the terraces you get the feeling that the sea is near enough to touch… There are three bedrooms on the upper floor. The largest bedroom has a double bed, 200 cm x 180 cm. In addition, there is a television and for fitness enthusiasts a home trainer. The bedroom connects with the spacious bathroom through an en-suite dressing room. The bath can also be used as a whirlpool. This bedroom has its own sea view terrace with a small table and two chairs. In the second bedroom, there is also a double bed, 160 x 200 cm. The third bedroom has two big separate beds both 110 x 200 cm. There is a further bathroom, with shower, bidet, WC and washbasins. All livingrooms and bedrooms have been equipped with ceiling fans, which provide ventilation, especially in summer.

The situation and surroundings of this luxury location are complemented by: The bus stop, which is approximately 100 m away. A hire car is, therefore, not absolutely necessary. However, if you would like to explore fully the beauty of the island, you should rent a car.

The distance to the south airport is about 80 km, to the north airport about 20 km. The capital Santa Cruz is about 35 km away and Puerto de la Cruz 15 km.

The finca Belmonte is located on a property that is about 20,000 m2 large. The location is stunning: directly elevated above a steep coast. The bungalow Vista Mar is luxuriously and comfortably equipped. It is 70 m2 and has a special ambiance. Here you will find a large bedroom and a living room with dining corner and an American kitchen on two levels. Of course, you can also use the shower/bath. From the large sunny patio, you will have a stunning view of the north coast and the tide. The guests can use the communal pool – it uses no chemicals. It is heated during the winter. The lawn can also be used. Furthermore, a German baker delivers fresh bread and cakes to the finca regularly. Upon request, a trained physical therapist or masseuse can come to the house. Buen Paso is a small village about 3 km from lcod de los Vinos and about 15 km from Puerto de la Cruz. The finca is located under a village on a steep coast, very secluded and quiet, surrounded by fincas with wine, fruit and vegetable growers. The island is still traditional here. Those who live here are very hospitable and ready to help. Icod de los Vinos is still an original Canarian small city. In the many bars and restaurants, you can enjoy the typical Vino with the famous ‘Tapas’, fresh goat cheese, papas with mojo sauce. Rabbit (cornejo) prepared differently and freshly caught fish and lapas can also be enjoyed. Puerto de la Cruz is the tourist metropolis of the north with a lot of options for culture, sport, night life, carnival and a lot more.

Upon request, you have the possibility of using the internet in the main house to look at your emails. The pool is heated during the winter months. Furthermore, the guests have the option of using a gas oven for heating. The cleaning lady will come twice a week to put new sheets on the beds and clean everything.

Ideal starting point for hikers and golfers:
Golf: Ideal starting point for golfers. In a 15 minute drive you can get to one of the most beautiful 18 hole golf courses in northern Teneriffa.

Our villa ‘Casa Rustica’ is located in the green north western region of Tenerife in the village of “El Tanque”, located app 1,600 ft above sea level in the hills above Garachico near Icod de los Vino and far from the mass-tourism resorts of the south and a 35 min drive from Puerto de la Cruz. The panoramic view from the terrace across the Atlantic is breathtaking. The house was first built in 1881, but was recently restored and totally refurbished. From the large terrace you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the Atlantic, looking across small vineyards. Tenerife’s newest and most spectacular golf course, the Seve Ballesteros designed Buenavista Golf Club is nearby, a must-play for any golfing enthusiast. There are great walks within a short distance. The area is famous for its superb wines which can be sampled in the local restaurants. El Tanque is located on the main road from Icod de los Vinos to Santiago del Teide, some six miles from Icod at 1,600 feet above sea level, overlooking the Atlantic directly above the picturesque town of Garachico. To the village of La Tierra del Trigo where some of the greatest red wines of the Canaries are made it is only 10 minutes by car. The newly opened Golf Club Buenavista is about a half hour drive away. This course, which was designed by Severiano Ballesteros, is the most spectacular one of the whole Canaries and a must-play for any golf enthusiast. The safe beach of San Marcos is only 20 minutes away by car. Water temperature never dips below 21 degrees.

A farmer’s market (5 minutes by car) offers you fresh agricultural products from the surrounding area during the weekends. The black beach “Playa de Arena” is distinguished with the “bandera azul” and can be reached by an impressive beach with a stunning view of the total northern coast without a problem. A cosy, long walk leads back to Playa Mesa del Mar and the fishing villages of El Prix where you can eat wonderful, fresh food. The exclusive “Real Club de Golf” (18 hole course, demanding) is nearby.

Minimum rental length: 2 weeks; maximum number of guests: 4 people; minimum rental price € 42.00/day (1 or 2 people). Children up to 9 years of age stay free. Die gediegene 2 Zimmer-Ferienwohnung (ca. 42 qm) liegt im Erdgeschoss unseres Einfamilienhauses, mit separatem Eingang, völlig unabhängig und mit einem Parkbereich davor, der durch eine Holzpaneelwand von der zum Appartement gehörenden großen Terrasse (ca. 25 qm) getrennt ist.
Die Terrasse ist sowohl vom gemütlichen Schlafzimmer (Doppelbett 2 x 90 x 200 cm) als auch vom Wohnraum aus über große Türen zugänglich. Im Wohnraum befindet sich ein ausziehbares Sofa (Doppelbettcouch), eine bestens ausgestattete Küchenzeile, Esstisch mit vier Stühlen, Radio, deutsches Satellitenfernsehen, sowie Internet (wlan). The apartment is quite sunny, it faces south-west, overlooks a small area of eucalyptus tress which allow you to sleep quite well and is situated in a peaceful location. Five minutes walking you can find a small supermarket,a restaurant, cafetería, mini golf, tennis courts, and a very nice Spa close by. More shops and restaurants, amenities are only a very short drive (3-4 minutes) or 15 minutes walk away. Balcony with nice views, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. It is is ideal for families, couples or people who like relaxing with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

Urbanizacion La Quinta is a residential area, about 5-8 minutes driving from Puerto de la Cruz. It belongs to Santa Ursula, a typical Spanish village… There are many typical restaurants there where you can enjoy nice food for a small amount of money and shops. Urbanización La Quinta has an ideally central location. From here you can reach many places of interest in just a few minutes by car: Puerto de la Cruz 5-8 min. La Orotava 10 min. La Laguna World Cultural Heritage, 15 min. Sta. Cruz ,the capital, 25 min. Teresitas beach with white sand 30 min. El Teide National Park 45 min. It has the advantage that it is ideal for relaxing: no noises from cars, no problems with parking and on the other hand all sort of facilities are only a few minutes away. It is the right place if you want to visit and see the island. There is a nice hotel about 300 metres away, where you can have a drink and enjoy the lovely sun of the area. There is a spa five minutes walking.
