Playa de las Americas, or more briefly ‘Las Americas’ as it is called, is the tourist centre of the south of Tenerife and offers tourists as well as residents a wealth of shops, bars, pharmacies, doctors, banks and much more. There is a huge number of restaurants, from Mexican through Japanese to Greek – but of course also English as well as top-class Spanish restaurants. On the western coastal stretch of Las Americas the exclusive resort of Costa Adeje has been created during the last few years – and is named after a small place in the mountains. The authorities have permitted only 4 and 5 star resort developments – the most impressive and most expensive among them is the ‘Bahia del Duque’. It features in the ‘leading hotels of the world’ category and offers everything that the most discerning holidaymaker´s heart might desire.
inside: There are two bathrooms with shower, wash basin and WC. In one bathroom there is also a bath. Bed linen, hand towels, bath towels and tea towels are provided in plenty. The kitchen features a ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a kettle A washing machine is installed. The sun terrace is provided with garden furniture and sun loungers and a grill too. External sun blinds can be extended to provide shade and are fitted on the ground floor and on the balcony on the first floor. The pool is – as usual in this luxury class – for the exclusive use of the guests of the house. The hire car can be parked in the garage.
The situation 1: Tenerife – the largest of the Canary Islands – offers a world full of contrasts. Unique regional and climatic contrasts mark the character of this island: the sub-tropical north presents a sweep of varied forest and mountain landscape, whereas the south offers breathtakingly sheer cliffs along the coast contrasted with picturesquely tiny bays and wide beaches of fine sand. The variety on the island is also reflected in the greatly extensive range of sports and leisure facilities available. Owing to the best climatic conditions, with average temperatures of 20°C in winter and 25°C during the summer months, Tenerife is an ‘island of everlasting spring’ and as such is an ideal destination for golfers in particular.
The situation 2: At the edge of Costa Adeje is an exclusive mansion area, in which the house ‘Sunshine Villa’ lies. The view of the Atlantic is simply wonderful. You can see the islands of ‘La Gomera’ and ‘La Palma’ opposite. The sunsets will be just as unforgettable as the view in the evening of the sea of lights of Costa Adeje and Las Americas. Directly beside Costa Adeje lies the small village of La Caleta. La Caleta was once a small, quiet fishing village, but it has quickly become a very popular spot for tourists in the know. There are several excellent fish restaurants there, all of which are just one step from the sea. You can also take a jump into the chilly Atlantic from a number of small bays there, before taking in an unforgettable sunset over the neighbouring island of La Gomera. The Costa Adeje golf course, one of the best golf courses of the island, is only about 3 minutes drive away.
