Reception is open 24 hours, and excursions and car hire are available for exploration of north Tenerife’s sublime landscapes and ancient towns and villages. Golf, tennis, squash and fishing are available nearby, in addition to a full range of water sports and other cultured excursions. The apartment is fully equipped – i.e. with linen, towels, cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment and has a full kitchen with electric hobs, oven, grill, microwave, kettle, coffee percolator and toaster. Tarahal enjoys a prime position in the exclusive La Paz area of Puerto de la Cruz, one of the oldest towns in the Canaries. Set at the mouth of the jewel-like Orotava Valley in the verdant north of Tenerife, Puerto de la Cruz has preserved the atmosphere and character of a genuine working fishing port as well as a tourist centre, with 17th and 18th century architecture abundant and delightful fish restaurants to be found down twisting, cobbled lanes. A short distance from Tarahal is one of the town’s leading attractions, the Botanical Gardens, established in 1788 and considered by the ‘locals’ to be on a par with Kew and the other great botanical gardens of the world. Only a few minutes’ stroll away is the lively centre with its wide choice of restaurants, bars, shops and night life, while the famous Lido and the Playa Jardin designed by the great Canarian architect and artist César Manrique are among the nearby options for daytime watery fun.
